Help formatting default value of custom column

I love that there is now an option to add a default for the custom columns! I just need help formatting the date.

I used the option 'Now' for my Date Added custom column, and it does work, but it currently shows up as:

==> Packaged: 2020-08-28 00:00:00-04:00.

Is there any way for me to have it automatically include today's date, but only year, month, day? Bonus if it could be in my preferred format of month, day, year, but that I don't really mind, so long as the time and time zone info isn't included.

Thanks!

Just set the date format to what you want. For example, the following shows the date in dd/mm/yyyy format. A format of dd MMM yyyy will show the d m y where day is numeric, month is text, and year is numeric.

Thanks @chaley, your answer both helped and didn't help. I was going to show that I had changed the format to what I wanted (I had MMM dd, yyyy). Then I started thinking about why it was showing up wrong. Thing is, it wasn't. I then realized that it showed up wrong on the title page of the ebook, and that brought me to the answer: that I had to change the input in my plugin config rather than the custom column default.

My only confusion was that before adding the default value, the date came out fine, but after it contained all this extra info, so I thought the problem would be with that. At least it's been solved!

Thank you very much for your help!
