Something like a bigger Kobo Aura?

I want to upgrade from my old 2013 Kobo Aura. I love the form factor with its flat glass front and lack of page turn buttons. I would love to find something similar but larger - somewhere around 7"-8".

I will only use it for novels. Ecosystem doesn't matter. USB-C would be great but it's not essential.

I'm been looking at the Boox Nova 2, but I have no need for its note-taking features so it's hard to justify the price.

Is there anything comparable out there?

I bought the Boox Nova 2 for just reading (I don't use it's note taking capability much). The reasons I went with the Nova were it's size, and open Android system. I have installed the Kindle, nook, and Kobo apps as well as Libby for library books. The built in reading app l also like. While I agree it's a little pricey, I felt it was worth it for the flexibility of not being restricted to any one ecosystem.

Thanks for chiming in. You echoed several of the points that have me leaning towards the Nova.

Do you ever find the note-taking capabilities, either in the hardware or in the software, getting in the way of using the device for just reading?

If you are happy with the Aura, and just wanted it for the reading, then the 7" Libra H2O or 8" Forma are excellent. The latter has a flush screen, but, both have page turn buttons. Which work very well.

I'm in the process of returning a Forma I got a few weeks ago due to the issue with the lighting.

I never looked into the Aura Once since it's no longer produced, but it's literally a bigger version of the Aura. I'll definitely dig deeper there - thanks!
