Calibre configurations lost!

Hi friends. Calibre for reasons unknown, resinstalled itself yesterday, as if it were never used before. (home Windows 10 machine). I managed to recover from the loss of the Library by finding and restoring it. Now equally concerning to me, does anyone know how to recover the lost configurations in Calibre. Signficant example: it took years of learning, but I finally got a means to convert .epub and a few other formats to .pdfs that look like book chapters, rather than mobile device text, which tends to be large fonts and without margins, etc. This is what 'conversion' is for, right? To make it printable and useful as material for class, or otherwise readable without a device. Now, all Calibre settings for fonts, ways of handling page breaks, line breaks text, covers, spaces, etc are lost and returned to Calibre's default. Long question made short: Does anybody here know what file or files contains those configurations/ settings, and how I might restore it?

What version of calibre is currently installed and what version of win10?

did you have a disk error? Losing a folder on a local drive is rare. I would always run the chech disk (for errors) utility before doing things that might stomp on 'lost' sectors'

Config is by USER logon. Did you login as another user of the PC?

Thanks for the replies and trying to help out.
This is going to remain a mystery I'm afraid. An entire directory on my PC moved to a location where I was saving a download of a pdf from a link. The directory that magically moved itself? Roaming/Application Data! The contents of which contain most all of the personal configurations of every application on the machine. I searched for info on how this might have happened; did every conceivable security check; I found nothing conclusive. Strange disembodied beings apparently decided to mess with me. Once I figured out how to copy that directory back to its rightful place (and merge into the reinstalled configuration of Calibre) my personalizations were back intact.

I take it, that you were not working WITH that folder when this first happened?

Windows 10: have you updated recently? I know some of the previous feature updates have had weird issues with the user folders disappearing.
