Kindle paperwhite not sharing with Goodreads

Hi,
My paperwhite 4 has stopped sharing progress updates to Goodreads, both the main site and the app on the reader. I get an email headed "Amazon Kindle Sharing: Unable to share progress update" with nothing else in the email. This is happening with store bought books as well as sideloaded, and was working with both when I last used my reader a couple of days ago. Has anyone experienced this issue? I'm running 5.13.1 and have made no adjustments in settings etc.

I have a paperwhite 10th generation and have received update 5.13.1 also. The whispersync and updates to Goodreads have stopped working. I have no problem with books being sent to the kindle.

I reloaded firmware 5.13.1 and now Whispersync is working! However, my Kindle will not sync with Goodreads. I dropped and re-enabled the link to Goodreads in the kindle, but still no joy. Any help would greatly be appreciated!

This is a a known problem, it was also mentioned on Amazonforum:

I've reported the problem to Amazon a few days ago and they said it was escalated. Hope for the best.

I had problems with syncing on my Oasis but it's working again.

I have had the same sharing problem, but not the email. I unlinked my Kindle Paperwhite 3 from Goodreads, then relinked it. I still get the "Unable to retrieve your social network settings. Please try again later." message under the status text block, but it successfully shares my progress & note now when I tap on Share.
