PW3 - Check if jailbreak survived (5.12.3)

My Kindle (PW3) was jailbroken, and running 5.10.x perfectly. The jailbreak survival code was installed, but might have been an older version.

I then made the stupid mistake (I know) of doing a flash-upgrade to 5.12.3, before checking the forums completely. Now, I'm not sure if my device is still jailbroken - since the usual ;log mrpi command doesn't seem to work.

I've tried to install KUAL using the Update_KUALBooklet_hotfix_44a61b6_install.bin UYK method to install KUAL, but that doesn't seem to work (I get a invalid update error).

Guessing its a goner, but I thought I'd ask before I give up on my jailbreak and koreader.

At first, reboot twice.

I tried the ;log restoration method at https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=325477, and while the command still didn't work, it did RUN - giving me hope.

Then scrambled a bit to find the emergency-bridge-recovery.zip file, found it in the

kindle-jailbreak-1.16.N-r17396.tar.xz

file here.

Same result as the previous thread: IT WORKED!

Restarted once, restarted twice - got the Kindle feedback book. Then ran ;log mrpi, which seems to have become so much more fancier now since I last ran it.

KUAL is back up, and I have KOreader back.

I also ended up checking my mrinstaller.log file, and found out that I've had this Kindle jailbroken for more than 4 years now!

Thanks, once again - I'd already started to look for sane eInk devices that supported EPUB+OPDS, and there was nothing in my country.
