2 questions involving saved search bar

So, this has bugged me for a while and I've looked around a little, did some searching and either I can't use the right words/phrases and get too many hits or find no information. I've decided to just ask.

Is there a way to:

1. Modify the width of the Saved Search bar? I'm running a 4k screen and smaller fonts so my normal searches in search bar rarely ever even makes it halfway across the screen, but my saved search bar is so small that I can't hit more than ~12 characters for descriptions. I have a lot of saved searches to make things easier.

2. Modify the length of the Saved Search bar? I have a lot of saved searches, and the current drop down can only show 10 searches, so is there a way to modify how many it shows? I can easily show 45-50 on my screen without going into any other territory.

Not without running calibre from source.

Any plans on modifying that in the future?

No, not really, I can increase the number of entries in the drop down list, but modifying the width is not something that is easy or particularly desirable to do.

Alright. I appreciate the prompt answer. Even doubling the size of the drop down list would help, though I dont know how it would affect others on smaller screens.

Well on second thoughts, since now-a-days this box is only visible if explicitly turned on by a tweak making it wider as well shouldn't be too bad, since if the user turns it on, they really want to use it. https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibr...394dd9bb6c4972

Thanks. That'll be awesome in the next release. Been annoying me for years, but I really hate to ask for things with something someone already spends so much time on. Feel like I'm being ungrateful/annoying then. I know some of that's just me, and some of it can be truth depending on the person.

I'm not a programmer (just understand basics), but I can see you changed the max visible to 25 items. It looks like removed the max size, does this make it adjustable?

No its just going to be wider and taller. Its not adjustable.
