Hi,
I think that that is not only specific to Kobos, but I'm experiencing it with my Libra, and I've experienced it before on my Glo HD. The thing is: I have very sharp eyes, and I *hate* seeing the fonts rendering like if it was in 167 ppi before a full-screen refresh. I know I could set the refresh to each page, but overtime this will, maybe, slowly reduce the lifespan of the screen (maybe, but I don't think so). But my question here is not about lifespan; TL;DR: Does anyone knows why, without a full refresh, the text looks fussy and not sharp? ![]() |

Because it takes the full refresh to fully "re-draw" the screen? I'm sure there are tons of explanations on the interwebs as to how e-ink works. The fact that there are options for the screens sort of explains it already.

I do not find an issue rendering text without a full screen refresh.

I have set all my ereaders to fully refresh every page, except for the Nook which doesn't have the option to do so. If that diminishes the lifetime of a screen, so be it. I cannot stand partial refresh either. Chances are I won't be using any of my ereaders long enough for their screens to die.

My H2O is set to refresh after (I think 50 pages). But with Kobo, it's very easy to refersh the screen should it need it sooner.
