Books not saving from ODPS catalogue in Kobo Libra

Hi,
I installed KOReader on my Kobo Libra via the "one click" install process. It works well, however when I try to download books from an ODPS catalogue (e.g. Gutenberg). Each server that I tried tried to download a file, but ended with a message like that: "Could not save <name-of-the-file> in <folder>".
I tried with Vlasovsoft ODPS also, but it just says "Error". I'd really like to be able to use this, since it's a great feature, that I feel I'm missing.

Any ideas?

I just fixed a sneaky issue that broke name resolution in some specific circumstances on Kobo, that could theoretically trigger what you've seen (especially if a local catalog, e.g., Calibre's, works just fine). Then again, you probably wouldn't have been able to even *browse* the catalog, first, so, eh.

You could try switching to today's Dev nightly, and then see if it works any better after a full device restart, and not running any other third-party code before, because they might all suffer from the same quirk, since they tend to take inspiration from KOReader's Wi-Fi scripts.

(That was a long winded way to say that I can't reproduce this on the current nightly ^^).

If the current nightly doesn't fix it, open an issue on GitHub with a *debug* (Tools > More Tools > Dev options > Debug logging) crash.log attached.

Actually it's supposed to fail because Gutenberg downgrades from https to http in redirects, see https://github.com/koreader/koreader...ment-649554392

If you can't reproduce then it means they fixed it.

I did manage to D/L an Alice in Wonderland PDF from there during said test, so, yay?

Did you open it? See in the linked issue how it's currently incorrectly saving it.

Weird, I can't replicate. Anyway, the error handling there is slightly lacking but the problem itself is unfixable (without breaking desired behavior).

On the rare times that happens to me, with calibre server, I would get it back by closing WiFi, in KOReader, and then "Restarting KOReader" in the Exit menu.

Like I said though, besides some minor polish related to dealing with failed downloads it's how it should be. The real issue is on Gutenberg's end.

I looked around a bit more and I don't think the format has anything to do with it, but another property, such as perhaps the age of the file. Some do redirect to https.
