Checksum verification for libary files
Some programs have hashtable stored of its database and can do checks against it to see if any corruption has happened.
Does calibre has something similar such as a sort of checksum md5 verification on your .cbz files and metadata files? Also when you're importing or moving books into calibre if there is a comparison check of the source and destination to check if the book moved without corruption at the destination. |

Nothing like that in calibre. Importing a book will often change it due to DRM being removed. Even reading an EPUB book with the default settings will modify it.

Unless you install third party plugins in calibre, all added files are byte identical. This is guaranteed provided the operating system kernel and file system drivers are working. Adding checksums would be pointless. That kind of thing is better done in a backup/data integrity solution for all your files.
