Books getting deleted on calibre startup?

Hey everyone,

Couldn't find much by just googling and simple forum searches but I have a consistent issue where simply starting up calibre causes some books from the import directory to get deleted. These books are being seeded generally and so I need them to not be deleted ever, just copy imported by calibre and organized. I imagine it may be related to the automatic import function.

I can't figure out a setting in Calibre that has this deletion function enabled and/or how to disable it or prevent more deletions every time I start calibre up. Anyone else had this issue?

1. that behavior is by design, don't use auto import if you don't want auto delete.

2. this thread is in the wrong forum - has nothing to do with calibre companion

there is (sorta)
copy my_bookname.ext calibre_autoad_folderpath
Don't make the auto add folder your download folder unless you want ALL recognized book formats deleted (NOT A GREAT IDEA as there are many file formats that would trip you up

Been asked for many times over; the problem is, if the books are left in the AutoAdd folder you will get duplicates, overcoming that is a can of worms.

The Job Spy plugin has a Per Library for the AutoAdd folder name, so I have more than one AutoAdd folder. I use Windows File Explorer's Send To feature to copy downloaded 'books' to the relevant AutoAdd folder - I avoid drag-drop copies, too easy to miss the target.
