How to keep custom column on migration to other computer?

After migration to a new laptop I have recreated the name and other characteristics of an own column I had created on the old one.
Only after copying the e-books the recreated column stays empty.

How can I keep this columns content on the new laptop?

Use the Export and Import functions rather than copying files and missing some configuration file.

Ensure source & destination have same Calibre version installed.

Custom columns are part of the DB already.

The simplest is to use Export and the Import. These are Archives that contain everything. (there is another way, but that is best only used by expert users)

Do not use just copy (old) and ADD BOOKS. Those columns are not IN the books.
