Flight Crew plug-in
I've had the Flight Crew plug-in installed ever since it was no longer included in Sigil, but now I have installed Sigil 0.9.18 in a new computer, followed by the download of Flight Crew, and no joy!
I am pretty sure that I did absolutely nothing on that earlier occasion. But this time I apparently had to "manage plug-ins"and add it. I did this, opened an epub, and ran Flight Crew, to get this response: "Status: failed "Launcher: missing or incorrect paths passed in" Since I didn't have to address this problem on the previous occasion, I have no idea what I am supposed to do. Help! Thanks - NJ |

I honestly wouldn't bother with Flightcrew any more. We've already been debating whether to abandon it altogether.
Having said that however, I know of know reason the latest version from: https://github.com/Sigil-Ebook/fligh...eleases/latest wouldn't run. Just make sure you're downloading the zipped plugin for Windows (if Windows is what you're using). It certainly works for me on my various machines. |

That error message in from the plugin code itself. When invoked it checks to make sure that all the expected files and paths have been properly provided. These hadn't been changed in a very long time until quite recently. And that change happed AFTER Sigil-0.9.18 was released.
Would you please try downloading a fresh flightcrew plugin from here (version 0.9.2): https://github.com/Sigil-Ebook/flightcrew/releases Then in Sigil use ManagePlugins to remove flightcrew, then add in the fresh copy of the flightcrew plugin zip archive that you just downloaded. Please give that a try. If you get the same error, then we will need to dig deeper. KevinH |

![]() I'm using FC as often as i use epubcheck. The reason is simple: files not being used do not make an epoub invalid, FC is the only tool/plugin i know whcih can detect images not being referred too, unsued stylesheets and fonts which aree not referred. I really would miss it. |

So I should download Epubcheck from the GitHub repository instead? It works as a plug-in?
My computer was wiped out, so both Sigil and Flight Crew were freshly downloaded a day or two before I posted. And yes, I did fetch the Windows zip file. I only did this once before, when Flight Crew was no longer bundled with Sigil, and it installed without a murmur. Same computer but now Win 10 instead of Win 7. Thank you all! -- NJ |

No. You should download the latest version of Doitus's Epubcheck plugin from the Sigil Plugin subforum. The plugin index thread (in the sticky section of Plugin subforum) has all plugins listed alphabetically with links to their download/support threads.

![]() People too quick to post hand-holdy direct links is a big part of why people never learn to find their own way around here. We don't need to post direct links to plugin threads when there's a perfectly good (and regularly maintained) index IN THE PLUGIN SUBFORUM that will give them links to EVERY plugin. If you must cripple people with direct links, link to that thread instead. |

Happily, Flight Crew is now working as before. But why is Epubcheck not linked on the Sigil Releases page? Doug seems to delight in catering only to the in-group. It is for that reason that I advise people to tread very carefully when they go to this forum. |

We do not link the epubcheck plugin on the Releases page because it is not our (Sigil-Ebook) plugin! We did not develop it nor do we maintain it. All the credit for that goes to Doitsu. It is Doitsu's plugin!
It is in the plugin index so that people can find it. I truly expect to see almost all epub publishing moving away from epub2 to epub3 given its importance overseas, especially in Japan and Asian markets. So flightcrew's future usefulness is in question. |
