Windows openeing too large, problems resizing
I'm having issues with some windows opening way, way, way too large for my screen. I know, just resize the window dummy, you're thinking, but I'm not able to.
When I try to use the mouse to drag the window shorter (top/bottom) the whole window just zooms off the the bottom of the screen at about a million miles an hour, and does not get any smaller. I have to use ALT+Spacebar and 'Move' to get it back with the arrow keys. Using ALT+Spacebar and 'Size' does not resize the window either - if I try the mouse, it flees again, and using the arrow keys produces no result. Resizing side to side works just fine. Unfortunately, that doesn't get me at the buttons/text/fields/etc at the bottom of the window. It's happening both on built-in calibre windows and windows for plugins. Is there any way to constrain how large the windows can open or any other way to resize a window that I'm not aware of? This is actually driving me quite crazy, because it's just so ridiculous and preventing me from doing things. |

You didnt say what OS you are on. Try turning off "Adjust for high resolution screens" in Preferences->Look & feel

If you are out of ideas, and desperate, you could try this as a last resort:
[1] go to: C:\Users\KittyNin\AppData\Roaming\calibre. [2] copy file gui.json to another folder to back it up. [3] edit file gui.json with Notepad or another text editor. [4] delete any logical sections within that file that look analogous to this and have a __class__ of "bytearray": Code:
"Plugin Updater plugin:version history dialog": { "__class__": "bytearray", "__value__": "AdnQywADAAAAAAPqAAABcgAABQEAAAKFAAAD6wAAAZEAAAUAAAAChAAAAAAAAAAAB4AAAAPrAAABkQAABQAAAAKE" }, [5] Restart Calibre. [6] If it will not restart, or you have even bigger problems, copy the backed-up original gui.json file back to where it came from, and restart Calibre. You will be back to where you were. DaltonST |

Sorry, this is on windows! Turning off "adjust for high resolution screens" in the settings did indeed solve my issue, thanks so much!
