Does Remove Books keep a ghost copy of files??
Hi. I use my Kindle to carry around my collection of individual PDF files of song lyrics and chords. I leave the Kindle permanently in Flight Mode as I have no need for it to connect to the internet to get meta data etc.
When I amend a songsheet, I need to replace the old version on the Kindle with the new version. I remove the old version from the Kindle by long-pressing the document name and pressing Delete This Document. I then Add Book to upload the new PDF file to Calibre, connect my Kindle by USB, and Send to Device. All straightforward. Why then does the old version reappear on my Kindle, instead of the new version? The old file obviously isn't coming from the Cloud as I'm always in Fight Mode, so the file was never sync'd there in the first place. The old file was removed from the Calibre library immediately after it was sent to the Kindle, so its not a case of me inadvertantly sending the wrong file. Cheers Flummoxed |

Use Calibre to delete the files from your Kindle, before loading the new versions. Works better than doing it on the device.

As a kludge/hack, try adding a version to the file's name; v1, v2, etc. Maybe something about having the same name is confusing somebody.

Tried using Calibre to delete the file from the Kindle, but same result - old file reappears rather than the new one.
Making a slight change to the file name works. Thanks for that. Still wondering though why I need to do this. It would seem the old file is apparently being retained in the Kindle presumably using up storage space. |
