Customize "Lookup/search word"?

Is there a way to modify the behaviour of the "Lookup/search word" function in the viewer?

Options that would be nice to have:

Customizeable search engine
- Like how browsers such as firefox handle customizing what the default search engine is, with a default vs. custom radio button choice and custom being a link such as http://example.com/search?q=%s where %s later gets replaced by the search term
The option of choosing between the present implementation as a sidebar and just opening the link in the default browser.

I'm sorry if this already exists as either a preference/tweak or a plugin (if it's even possible to have plugins for the viewer), but I haven't found anything like that.

Does Preferences: Look and Feel: Details (a tab) have what you want?

Not sure if this is also used by the Viewer.

At the bottom of the lookup panel is a button to add more sources, click it to ad dmore urls. And no, there is no option to open in an external browser.
