Kindle keyboard 3G strange behaviour
Dear all,
First of all, thank you to everyone that are part of this forum, and make all this happen. I know that my Kindle keyboаdr 3G is old enough, but was like a faithful dog and would be nice if can be possible to revert back in operation. My bad story start since one-two months ago and it's really crazy. Currently starting and working few hours, stoping, freezing, boot looping and so on. I searching and found some suggestions/solution that not work for me: Try to charge the kindle with different power adapter and cable Holding powre slider for 10, 20, 30 sec Holding powre slider for 40 sec Perform soft reset Perform factory reset via GUI Check and reconnect the display connector Check and reconnect the keyboаrd connector After all of this, changed the battery with new one, but again nothing changed. Some time keyboard booting and woking some time, after that freezing. Some time around one day stay at boot loop. At the end I found relation, when remove the battery from the device and put it back, the kindle boot and work for some time maybe 5 min, maybe 1 day, but at the end again freezing and cannot boot. If someone have the same things or have idea how to fix it would be great! Thank you in advance. |

The balls under the processor probably cracked. A typical age problem of the Kindle keyboard. There remains a rehot or reball system.

What do you think about performing of Kubrick's or doesn't it make sense? If yes, I will try to perform a rehot or reball system.

I think that in this case kubrick will not help, and it can even make matters worse if your motherboard reboots while loading the system.

A bad battery will also cause this. I've seen an issue where the controller in the cell box (it has a serial data to Kindle) was causing the Kindle Keyboard to shut down, even when externally powered. Various resets only cleared a frozen screen.
Cured with a good replacement less than 1 yr old. Oddly the same 10 year old pack is working in a different kindle, but the orange power light and charge icon remains after unplugging a charger till you restart via menu or power button holding. Been reading on that Kindle Keyboard for 3 days on and off without charge and it's now at 50%. Odd. Trying add additional SW or do an update is madness if the Kindle isn't working for at least 10 minutes. |

Thank you for your kindly provided information and proposal regarding my Kindle.
@Quoth My story is a little bit different, because the Kindle not boot, boot loop or is in working condition(but not in constant) even if is connected to the power source. I also try and removed the whole wifi / 3g module, but the Kindle doesn't boot any more. @eddie.t.h I talked with one of my friend of main which has hot air soldering station and we will try to rehot the processor, as a final try I think ![]() Guys, once we try will update you with the final status. |
