Has anyone ever replaced the battery in a Kindle Paperwhite?
I was looking at battery replacements for another device, and decided to check to see if it was possible for a Kindle Paperwhite and found some sites with instructions and/or kits. Being something of a klutz, I was wondering it works and if it’s as easy as they make it seem. Anyone ever do this?

I just did a Kindle Keyboard.
Make sure you have an article with good photos, video is really poor for such a thing.
Make sure it's really the right replacement cell and not more than a year (or two at most) old.
If you've never done such a thing, be gentle opening the case. In reality no kits or special tools are needed.

I replaced the battery in my Paperwhite 2 following the instructions in the video at Newpower99. It was fairly difficult but it did work. Foolishly I didn't buy the battery from Newpower99. I got a $5 battery from Ebay. It wasn't much better than the original. I considered doing it again with one of Newpower99's batteries but I just didn't want to go through that again. I'm 79 and my fingers are a bit fumbly. So I gave it to someone who was in need of a Kindle.

To me, it seems to be such a hassle to replace a battery I would rather get a new one. By the time it dies the device is old enough for an upgrade
