Resetting reader position for all eBooks
I'd like to keep the "remember current page when quitting" option active, just reset the reader position for all my books.
Tried disabling it anyways, but Calibre still remembered position unless I opened the book while it was disabled. Is there another option that I'm missing somewhere? Thanks in advance. Last edited by ownedbycats; 02-29-2020 at 10:04 PM. |

Readng position is saved in tow places, in the config directory under annots and in epub files themselves. The former is easy to remove, the latter not so much.

Well, I disabled the option to keep the bookmarks and reading position stored in the ePub itself. So that should help for the future.
Thank you. |

The setting is to "enable sharing".
Thanks. Found it. I knew it was doing that but hadn't realised I could turn it off. I broke my own rule of "Always check ALL settings" on any new program or gadget! |

Not sure what to think of this design choice, but I speculate it may be in place for those who just use the eBook viewer separately from the rest of the library management stuff. Last edited by ownedbycats; 03-02-2020 at 04:21 PM. |

The content server USED to be standalone ONLY, then Kovid made a embedded(?) version. IIRC there are also some settings in Tweaks. Maybe, splitting out the settings file(s) is not easy as we think. |

The standalone content server has no settings file. All settings are via commandine arguments. The set of settings is the same as the GUI.
