Quick questions

Hello. I’ve been using Calibre for a bit now and just noticed that an update came out (haven’t used it in maybe a couple months or more). I know the old app was difficult to use sometimes and I had trouble connecting to my laptop to sync the library. With this new subscription model, what exactly is being offered? All I use the companion for is to put my books I got on my laptop on my iPad. I primarily use the desktop version to sort and get my books in order. Also not sure if someone from development reads these, but comparing it to the old app, it is more time consuming copying a book to Books. On the old one I just tapped the book then add then Copy to Books was the first thing. Now it shows a bunch of other options and I have to scroll to get to copy to Books. It’s a bit of a nitpick, but it just saves time when I’m doing a whole lot of books. Last question for the companion is what is the point of texting a book to someone? I tried texting my book to my friend, but it won’t let him open the Books attachment. It would be easier to share my books with my friend if I can just text them to him

Not sure if it is allowed to be asked here, but on the desktop version when I have it pull from the internet the metadata for a book is there a way to see exactly where it is getting the info? My problem with it is I have Light Novels but the auto metadata sometimes reads them as Manga and sometimes as Light Novels, even within the same series. It also repeats such as every book in the series is Book 1 and I have to manually go in and fix it. Any fix to that?

Yes the developers do read the comments on the blog. I can't really help you with the Calibre components of this question but I would like to hear more about your use case in regards to "copying" books.

on copy to, that's actually an Apple thing, not a CC thing. It's basically a list of apps that iOS thinks can handle the book. You can configure it to show the apps in a specific order and to remove apps from the list. I configured mine to show Marvin at the front of the list for the very reason you are complaining about.

How would I do that? If I tap Edit Actions it only shows me able to edit the Copy button
