"Purchase history" on web site times out

If I click on "Purchase History" on the website there is a long delay then I get:

"Uh oh!

Oops! Unfortunately it appears we experienced a technical difficulty. Please try your request again. If you continue to receive this notification, please contact our Customer Care department for assistance:

Call 1-866-204-4714 (8am-12am EST)

Email: help@kobo.com (24 hours)
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to load this page. Back to Store"

I have asked Kobo about this before and was told it's because I have too many books.

I didn't think it really mattered since it was basically cosmetic and
I could get much the same information from my super points dashboard.

However, I have since learned that if I change my mind about a pre-order I can't change it from the page about the book itself, I need to go into my purchase history. Which of course I can't do.

How many books is "too many"? Surely I can't be the only person with this problem. How long has it existed? I appreciate there are worse problems in the world, especially right now.

How many books are we talking about? My account with ~1500 books does take some time to open but it does open.

About 900. Interesting that you're fine with much more than that. And clearly it can't matter what model of Kobo I have since this is the web site.

Location? Kobo's website has always been sluggish as hell from western Europe in my experience.

No problem here (Ottawa, Ontario.) Of course, I only have 202 items in the Purchase History...

Actually they didn't say it was too many books. Just the number of books. Could the problem only arise for particular numbers, and not just numbers over a certain threshold? That feels ... really unlikely.
