Copy & paste the PowerPoint slide by slide into Word or LibreOffice Writer. Adjust any images. Adjust format of text with styles.
Save docx (or Save As in Writer). Import Docx to Calibre. PDFs are an envelope with instructions and data to create a proof copy of a paper printed document and also to print independently of the printer features (assuming page size is possible). PDFs are a terrible source for epubs. They can have any mix of instructions, vector images, bitmap images and text and define a fixed layout. So two different PDFs will not work the same for conversion. Sometimes you can import a PDF to a program and then fix it up a bit and export as something else. |

It's a 983 pages (slides) PDF. I don't think the solution would be to do it manually page by page, since we have an end date and each page (slide) contain many different elements (images & text boxes) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So idk if calibre has a plug in or just any feature to only pull the text and made it into an e-pub? I appreciate any help thanks in advance Last edited by mdfs8; 02-29-2020 at 12:30 PM. |

Hasn't your Powerpoint got an HTML export?
Have you tried selecting ALL, copy and paste to Word/Writer? May be slow! You absolutely need to use the original powerpoint, though you MIGHT be able to open it in a PDF viewer and Select all the text and paste into a wordprocessor. If you don't want images, then "paste special" "Unformatted text" or similar options. |

But you've given great ideas though, I'm here scratching my head trying to figure out how they can definitely be useful for a start of something! Thanks for the suggestions!

If you just want the text, you could run your PDF through one of the many online converters (e.g. https://pdftotext.com/) and then whack the resulting text into word (or whatever). I've done that myself when I needed to re-use text for another document and didn't want to retype.
There are lots of those converters to try online. Google is your friend. |

Convert PDF could be difficult because of the size, the layout structure used or even if the text can be selected or not.
You need to test different online export tools as they would give different results. Option 1 - Convert PDF to Word Open Word, save as Epub (at least Libreoffice has that option) Option 2 - maybe the best option to achieve a final clean work - Open PDF, select "All text" / copy to Word. - Clean up text format for "normal" only - Don't use footers or headers - Create headings for titles and place an automatic index - Create EPUB (Menu File / Export to ePUB) Option 3 - Online converters (PDF to Epub) https://www.google.com/search?q=pdf+to+epub Note: You will benefit by fine tuning the converted file with Calibre editor or Sigil Last edited by Horus68; 03-01-2020 at 07:02 AM. |

Save to DocX and then convert to ePub in Calibre works far better than save as / export as epub.
Avoid online converters. Some are just piracy sites and none are as good as free software on MacOS, Windows or Linux. Maybe a port of last resort for someone that only has a phone/tablet. |

Open the the pptx file in Powerpoint and use the Export Handouts (to Word) feature and go from there.
If you don't have the pptx file, ask the originator if they can provide a "Handout" docx. BR Last edited by BetterRed; 03-01-2020 at 08:08 PM. |
