Calibre Conversions Format

I'm asking a question that I don't see obviously answered in any of the Calibre documentation. My apologies if somebody's already asked it, but I still would like some help.

I'm converting a large number of .lit files to .epub format, and Calibre has long been the best tool for that job. However, I was wondering if it was possible during the conversion process to ensure that the filename came out in a specific way.

If I'm converting a '.lit format copy of Conrad's "Lord Jim", is it possible to have the final converted file come out in the format of in the format of:

conrad-lord-jim.epub

And if so, how?

Moreover, if its possible to have the foldernames for this author to read "Conrad, Joseph", how would I go about doing that?

Any advice anyone could give would be most appreciated.

You don't get to control LIBRARY folder or file names. (see sticky in Library Management sub forum)

OTOH Your Send To device TEMPLATE pretty much lets you roll your own file names. Do Note: some devices use embedded metadata of the TRANSFERRED book. The Metadata plugboard allows modification during transfer LEAVING the Library copy pristine

If you use the ebook-convert command line program you have direct control over placement and names of the input and output files.

Or use the Library Manager as a workbench, i.e add the format you have e.g. .LIT, do any metadata adjustments, then the conversion, then a Save [all formats] to Disk with a template to specify folder and file names you want based on the book metadata --- and then Remove the book.
