Replacement of Kindle Voyage with a similar quality

So as the tittle says , I am lookign to upgrade my kindle voyage. I'm looking for a bigger screen otherwise I won't upgrade.
I have bought a kindle oasis before. For some reason my KV always looks better in sharpness and crispness.
I have used a Kobo Aura 2ed. The image quality was closer to the KV.
I have also seen a kindle paperwhite (2019) , the screen quality is like the oasis which is worse than the voyage.

So I am mainly thinking about a Kobo Libra or Kobo Forma , I just wonder if the screen quality is close or better than the voyage.

I have/have had the Kobo Libra, the Voyage and all the Oases. The screen of the Voyage is the best of them. The Libra screen is about the same as the Oasis. Personally I have never seen another ereader with as sharp a screen as the Voyage.

Same here - I had the Oasis 2, but returned it because of the same reasons as yours. I now have an Oasis 3 that definitely gets more use, mainly due to the cellular connection and the warm light. However, whenever I use my Voyage, I wonder why I bought the Oasis 3 at all...

It's difficult to find an e-reader as sharp as the Voyage, I haven't come across one yet and I have looked at the Kobo range, Kindle range, Tolino range.

I hope Amazon will use the same magic and create a KV with 7" screen.

A lot of us do, but it seems not enough to get amazon interested.

When the Kindle Touch came out, many pronounced page turn buttons dead, but many strongly prefer them and made enough fuss long enough that amazon listened. Now other brands that dropped them or never had them have them as well.

So I am not giving up hope for a new, improved Voyage. But I am not holding my breath.

I'm pretty sure that even if Amazon released a new Voyage, its screen would be similar to that of the Oasis, not the old Voyage. The screen of the old Voyage seems to have been a fluke and Amazon has not managed to repeat that quality.

Probably boils down to manufacturing costs. No doubt whatever they're using now is cheaper to manufacture.

That said, Amazon charges a premium for the Oasis. The least they could've done was give it the same quality screen as the Voyage.

Agree the Voyage was a great device, the best flush glass screen (better screen than the Oasis).

But some e-readers with sunken screen are at least on a par with the Voyage IMO.

The hardware design isn't as polished, but My Poke Pro screen seems sharper/crisper to me for reading. Software has pros and cons... better than Kindle if you're an enthusiast willing to spend time customising, but not as simple to use for regular users.

They've improved their rendering modes recently. The stock fonts aren't as good as on the Kindle, but it's easy to install https://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/literata-book which I prefer to the standard Kindle typefaces.

The bigger Onyx screens with flush glass aren't as sharp.

I have Oasis 1 and Kobo Forma. I always read from Forma because of screen size. Almost never touch Oasis. For me 6" is too small. I like Forma's screen very much, and I don't care about frontlight, because I rear use it.
