Im trying to open one of my AZW3(KF8) files with Calibre, but instead of pictures(chess diagrams) it shows bunch of symbols and letters (attachment). Version of my Calibre is 4.8 and I have already installed bunch of plugins. I have also several other chess books in azw format, and having no issues with them.

That book is missing the font file that contains the chess symbols or it has encrypted fonts with no key (Calibre is not a unregisterd device).
If it the former, ask for your money back or a repaired version.
