Cannot see Fire on Mac M1
I have not been able to get Calibre to see my Fire tablet ever since getting a new M1 iMac about a year ago. I keep waiting and hoping an update from either Calibre or Fire will solve the issue, but so far no luck.
I would love some help trying to diagnose the issue, thanks for the support. Everything, MacOS, Kindle Fire, Calbre are all at the latest versions. below is the debug report. Spoiler:

Did you put the Fire (USB) into File Transfer mode after connecting?
(Applies to many Android based devices) |

Thanks
My Fire is not showing up in the Finder (MacOS), so I am assuming it is a cable issue. Since upgrading to an M1 iMac I have had several devices that were hard to mount without the exact right cable.
Before I start buying cables to experiemtn with, is there someone who can confirm a MacOS capable USB-C to Kindle Fire cable? Quote:

On macOS a fire wont show up since its an MTP device. SKip that step and read the rest. In particular for your case its most likely:
With the Kindle Fire 8 or newer there is an icon that shows up when the USB cable is plugged in, showing that the device is charging. Tap that and switch the device to data transfer mode, and then start calibre, it should then be detected. |
