Hello.
I made a mistake, and ordered Calibre to make a whole hard disk scan looking for books and adding them to the libray. As a result, it added lots (I mean LOTS) of ZIP, RAR files, which does not contain any books, as well as word documents with memos and stuff I don't need in calibre, Lots of PDFS including manuals and virtual printer excel documents which I also don't need in calibre, text files, all windows help (CHM) files and so on, building a gigantic library of about 22 Gigs. My question is if I can safely go to Documents and Settings\ADMIN\Calibre Library\ and remove everything form there WITHOUT compromising the forementioned documents. I just simply want to remove completely the library and start over with only the files which contains books, being more careful next time. While in many cases I can find the copy of the file stored in "Documents and Settings\ADMIN\Calibre Library\" anywhere else on my hard drive, there is also a lot of files registered in folders of the library which I can't find, so that is my concern. If anybody could help me to reset completely the library and start over, without losing anything (valuable or not, there are so much files in the library I can't have the time to choose which are valuable and which are not), and thus releasing the 22,3 Gigs to a more decent vaue, I would be greatly thankful. Thank you so much in advance, and please, have good holidays, take care of yourselves, may God gives you a happy new year. |

Calibre makes COPIES of what it finds .
To be honest, I am not sure why you did not have issues with a recursive find (found books IN the Library folder) loop. So Yes, deleting the Library folder should be safe. BACKUP your disk (the path you searched at a minimum) is still a recommendation. If you are worried...they must have some value ![]() |

Thank you so much!!
However, there is something I did not understand: Quote:
It seems that the files that appear in the Library folder that I couldn't find elsewhere, are files (mainly PDFS and DOCs) that were stored in RARs or ZIPs. Thank you again, have a nice new year! ![]() |
