I got my Kobo Libra just a little while back, but I didn’t take the time to patch it. And for a bit, I thought the Libra was fine without any patch.

Oh boy was I wrong.

I patched it yesterday. I don’t use that many patches, but you gotta love the reduced footer and header.

Anyways, just wanted to say a big

The patchers are such a big part of what makes the Kobo even greater.

i was expecting to want to patch my new Libra , but the header and footer ( out of the box) take up very little space already ? much less than I remember from my older model
also by default I am seeing pages in chapter in the header, and pages in book in the footer which is excellent.

So all I have done so far is to add the bookerly fonts, for consistency with how I read on other devices - that was painless using instructions from this forum

Pocket was more of a pain, I created an account on PC using google sign in and then could not log in on Libra because it wanted me to create a password, then when I tried to do that with the Libra browser it said I needed a better browner that could handle captchas - so I had to go do it all on PC- after that it seems OK

what's the name of the patch for header and footers, please, in case i decide to check it out

All the patches are in the kobopatch .zip file. You just enable those you want. No hunting for individual patches all over the forum anymore.

so i should hunt for kobopatch.zip - any clues on where to look for that please

a site search for kobopatch.zip gives me this thread as the best match !

Thanks, I really should have tried harder to find it myself , but the site Search gave multiple suggestions, none with kobopatch in the thread titles

I managed to find my firmware version on the libra, at 3rd attempt , and it is the value quoted above.
To save starting another thread, if I now buy a forma, will that update to same firmware level, or is it at an older version still- and if so, are any of the libra features "missing"
