Ereader + Lite Browser?

Hello all,

Been browsing the forums and seeing what I can find that best suits my needs.

My iPad just died on me and was using blue-fire to read my collection I have on dropbox.

Anyway, looking to e-ink and was curious what's out there that I might have missed.
  • Size: 8"+
  • Do read at night or in dim locations
  • lite web browsing, basically on forums or reddit
  • might use udemy to youtube to watch basically educational stuff

Open to ideas or suggestions. Was thinking of the Kobo Forma but was told its not good for browsing the web? don't want to settle for a typical tablet but I'm ok if that's what has to happen....

thanks in advance

Libra or Forma plus a 10" Lenovo LCD tablet (or a 10" Ipad at over x4 price)

fgorma can access dropbox directly- it creates a shared folder when you firt link it
any books ( pub) you place into that folder, from anywhere, can then be downloaded to the forma.

the actual forma browser is hidden, but I am told it exists. Dont expect much from any e-ink browser - even forums may use javascript or other stuff that the very basic reader browser cannot handle. same applies to Kindle browser. if you have ever tried to use a smart TV browser, its the save level of crap-ness

for you tube, it will have to be a tablet.

7" Libra €185 inc 23% local tax.
10" Lenovo Tablet €120 to €195, inc local 23% tax. Has a 3.5mm jack socket and SD card slot. A 256 GByte branded micro SD card for PDFs was about €35. Browser almost as fast as my decent laptop.

Total not much more than an 8" eink and less than a 10" eink.

The Browser on an eink is about good enough to look up a phrase, king or clothing on Wikipedia or Google. Not good enough to read a news site, post on a forum or Social Media. Forget photos and especially video.
