First off I have been trying to rename my ebooks and digital magazines that I have downloaded. For example some of the ebooks and magazines have symbols in the name or title. like $ or instead of (&) it will sometimes say AMP not and or have the correct symbol. So I have been trying to fix the titles for over a hour or two.
So some of the ebooks and magazines are mixed together so what I have been doing is this. I fix the spelling in the title and then if the author is messed up or unknown or missing I just place unknown. And then I try to fill in the month and year for the magazines and some of the books that already have that information. But the issue I have is when I save the ebooks or digital magazines to my USB flash drive it shows up like this 3 files for example 1,001 best slow cooker recipes.jpg which is a image then a opf document, and then adobe acrobat document. This is what it looks like. ![]() Here is what I want to try and do. I would like to be able to back all of these ebooks and magazines up online to my google drive for viewing on my tablet. But I only plan to add a few at a time and not all them at once. I also plan to separate my ebooks and magazines. I plan to have the cookbooks and cooking magazines separated magazines in one place and ebooks in another but I plan to also try to organize them by genre and categories but I don't know how to organize them so I was wondering if someone could help explain to me how to organize them by categories or how to separate them into categories. I am still kind of new to this "Calibre". So I know this might be a odd question but I am still pretty new to all this and would like to get my stuff a bit more organized. Thank you all that read and reply! |

I keep Book and Periodicals in separate libraries. The Books library is pretty much as you'd expect Authors and Titles in the designated columns.
But for Periodicals I put the Periodical name in the Author column, and the Periodical number/date in the Title - counter intuitive and I have to ignore the 'names' of the columns, but it works for me. One of the things I'd like to have is the ability to rename standard columns on a per library basis. BR |

I'm going to be finishing up renaming the ebooks and magazines that are currently on my laptop today. And then I will be deleting them once I have completed them. And then I will take a few ebooks from my usb flash drive and place them onto my tablet.
I have a rca tablet as well as a amazon fire tablet as well. I plan to use the RCA tablet for reading and the fire tablet for apps and games. |
