Touch HD 3 frontlight and nightmode
Hi,
I'm currently looking at buying one of these to replace my old kobo glo (which I spectacularly cracked after messing with the insides). I'm planning on using a 3rd party reader to invert the colours at night but know that with the newer screen tech this tends to cause lots of ghosting on page turns. Does anyone know how obvious it is on this model? I also prefer my frontlight to be very low at night, so I'm hoping that someone with a Touch HD 3 could take a photo of it in the dark with the light as low as it will go so I can have an idea if it is too bright. Thanks, |

As for the low brightness, i couldn't take a photo with my phone camera because i'ts so low that camera don't pick it up at all. For me it hurts my reading on such low brightness so i need to turn it a bit brighter. |

It's really hard to get an idea of the brightness from a camera picture. Digital cameras, film cameras and eyeballs have different responses to light levels. What you see in the image would also depend on the brightness level of the screen you are viewing it on. So, I don't think you could get a good idea of the brightness in this way.

Thanks for that, it looks like the ghosting issue is almost totally resolved (I have a H2O that was my latest reader and it's horrible on that).
Knowing it goes so low that it can't even be seen is perfect as well, means that I won't have any issues setting it to the brightness I want. Fingers crossed it appears in the Black Friday sales ![]() |
