1 minor remark: In the "edit Metadata" screen, the "Title sort" & "Author sort" entry fields have now a red or green border instead of red/green input field background. As the border is not that visually obvious, can the input field background also be red/green (as it used to be)? It will then stand out more for the visually impaired.

The border is there because in dark mode the colors made it hard to se read the text.

Ah

Now you mention dark mode, I'm on Win10 with dark mode as default, but calibre does not seem to use any dark mode at all.
I tried to find it in the setting, but no success nor in the help.

Being in the "dark" (so to speak), can you enlighten me how to switch?

This is dark mode on macOS, on windows to get dark mode you have to change your system colors and use the system theme in calibre

Ok, I tried it. Horrible!

Column headings unreadable, row numbers unreadable. I need too much time to figure out to make that usable. Back to the calibre default style it is.

Anyways, thanks to the pointer and I hope that the migration dust (read: viewer complaint emails) soon settles down for you
