Group Author Varients

Say I have a group of books, all penned by the same person, but published under different names: Example Meg Cabot and Jenny Carroll are the same person.

Now, say that I would like to keep them stored in Calibre under the published author, but I wanted to "create" a group for such instances.

Thoughts? I've considered just "picking a name" and using it solely in the sort field, but I'd take other suggestions.

If you do a search in this sub-forum for 'pen names' and 'pseudonyms' you should find a several threads where this issue has been discussed.

IMHO you will find you will also need ti ride herd on Series name metadata (pick one and use that for all books in the group).
Tags: Herding Cats is easier.

Bottom line. Metadata DOWNLOAD is just the start. There is no LAW that says you have to keep that (mess) intact
