Koreader menu not displayed properly

Hi, All,
I just installed Koreader on Moaan ereader, which runs Android 8.1. However the menu is not displayed properly (please see attached image). Just wondering could anybody help here?

It looks like the character set and language of your device, is not one used by KOReader's "system". You be likely to find developers interested in adding such support for your device at the project on Github.

We'll probably need to know which fonts actually *are* installed on the system, though.

Great. If you want you could help by reporting which fonts are already available on your e-reader. You'll need adb installed and tipe, from command line:

adb shell ls /system/fonts

All the rest are .ttf wonder if there is a .ttc file or if it was just listed wrong? (Iwould change both.)

Oh, I didn't even notice that it was a collection.

Yeah, that's one way Noto CJK can be shipped (https://www.google.com/get/noto/help/cjk/).

I have no idea how we handle font collections. I'm guessing badly? (i.e., either not at all, or at best we always pick the first font of the collection?).

At the very least the Lua frontend code doesn't do anything with it explicitly. Depends on what FreeType does behind the screens I suppose.

I believe FreeType supports ttc.
