Just updated from oasis 2 to 3 and worth it
I bit the bullet and updated to the Oasis 3.
Comparing the Oasis 2 to 3, the Oasis 3 is easier on the eye being a more cream colour. The Oasis 2 is more white so for me since the oasis 3 is easier on the eye is a big difference and the colour temp alone is worth it. The 3 as a matter of fact even without setting the colour temp is far easier and a far more colour temperature to read by. So anyone who thinks it's not worth it think again. The iasis 3 screen is more attractive. |

The only thing I think is a big letdown is no magnets on the back. The new covers are a real step back, so getting a sleeve as the whole point is reading with no cover. Even auto turn off from what I read does not work with most covers. |

Personally I find it ridiculous that Amazon took 7 years after the release of the PW gen 1 to listen to people who were complaining about the blue tinted light layer. IMO, the light layers have not improved much over the past 7 years, certainly not as much as they should have. I'm glad they finally started listening and put in a light layer that is yellowish rather than blue, but they should have done that back when they released the PW 2.

The warm lighting definitely makes reading more comfortable. Not that the frontlight on the Oasis 2 was bad, but being able to adjust the color temperature to suit different lighting conditions is very useful. Also, the Oasis 3’s battery lasts longer which is the biggest complaint I had about the O2.

Even not adjusting the lighting, it's more a creamy colour and so much easier on the eye compared to Oasis 2.
The buttons feel slightly better also. I notice just off the bat and only had one charge my battery lasts longer and it takes 3 or 4 charges for the battery to gain full capacity. And I agree they should have had the colour change ages ago. Dont agree of them taking off the magnets in the back and auto shut off. If you got to physically pull the case off it defeats the purpose and if you got to leave the cover on the that is also not good,? Else what's the point of making it light and easy to hold? I miss the magnets on the back as I could have used my half cover from my oasis 2. The only decent option with the 3 is a sleeve, as the covers on the 3 have taken a step backwards |

The original case does have issue with magnets not being super strong but the way I use the device it never has been a problem. I am glad I got one before they went away. The oasis 3 is interesting with the new lighting but I am happy for now. |
