PDF to Mobi - Cover?

Hi - I am wanting to convert a pdf to the mobi format. However, when I then open the mobi in a Kindle reader there is no cover shown within the Kindle reading software despite the fact that I checked "Use Cover From Source File". I was wondering if what I am looking to do is beyond the scope of Calibre or maybe just not possible to do with pdf files. I would be open to other ways to accomplish the same thing but realize that this is a Calibre forum. Thanks.

PDF has no covers, if you want a cover int he output document set a cover for the book in calibre or if you areusing the command line tools, use the --cover option to specify a cover image.

Thank you for your response. Is there a way to have the first page of the pdf become the cover?

When you add the pdf to calibre its first page automatically becomes the cover of the book.

Cover in Kindle?

Hi - Thanks again for your response. I want to ultimately have the first page show as a cover in the Kindle reading app. Is there anything I can do in Calibre to accomplish that? Thanks.
