Help: fixed-layout epub problem
Hello,
I have a problem I would like to ask the forum's help for. I have bought several ebooks from google book store that are in epub format (at least that is the only version I can download them) but they seem to contain only images. Now when I read it on a phone I can pinch zoom into them but I couldn't find any epub viewer for windows that allows for zooming in and the text are too small for me to read this way. I tried to convert these epubs into pdf (after successfully removing the drm) but the end result is weird: every other page is displayed as part of the next page in the corner shrank down. Example: ![]() ![]() https://postimg.cc/gallery/2dh48n5vo/ Can anyone help me either by recommending an epub viewer with which I can zoom in on the pages OR a way to properly convert these epub files into a format that I can zoom in. (pdf? cbz?) Thank you. |

Guess noone can help.
I did find a workaround if anyone has similar problems: Converted the epub into zip with Calibre then got the jpg-s from the zip, sorted them properly and compressed just the images into a zip. Then renamed extension to cbz and used an online converter to convert the cbz into pdf. The only problem is that somehow the quality got worse a bit but that's the best I could do... |

You don't need to use calibre to convert .ePub to .zip, ePub IS a zipped file with just a different extension. Just change the filename extension to .zip and open with your favorite software.
PDF is definitely not what I would consider a good reading medium...it's just one that's been around a long time and is widely used... You could just use an app that natively reads cbz instead of converting to pdf. |

Thanks didn't know epub was also a zip.
Yeah I'm reading it with a cbz viewer on windows. Too bad I can't read it on my paperwhite tho as I don't know a way to read cbz on it. |

Load the ePub into Calibre (do not ZIP the ePub) and convert to AZW3. Then you can try to read it on your Paperwhite.
