I got fed up with Kobo's unsortable wishlist.

So I just went and copied it all to a spreadsheet. Title, series (to get them in order), price, VIP point redemption price, and link.

Probably less useful for people who add hundreds of books every month, but for my somewhat anemic list of less than a hundred, i think it will help

If a list of less than a hundred is 'somewhat anemic', what's a wishlist of fifteen?

A wishlist of 15 eBooks is a list of 15 eBooks you want to read.

I agree that the wishlist functionality leaves something to be desired, but what bugs me most about it is the fact that I'm left with this (see attached image) at the bottom. I bought the e-book in question ages ago, but I can't remove this corrupt mess from the list.

Yes, indeed. It's only two hands and one foot.

Edit
For some reason I thought "A Canticle for Leibowitz" was by Fritz Leiber. However I think I did read it very long ago.

Can't remember if the version on Kobo UK is the same on Kobo US--It was not the Gateway version-- but I complained to Kobo about the EPUB of A Canticle for Leibowitz that was on Kobo US's store, as the formatting was terrible/non-existent...it felt like I was reading a txt-to-EPUB conversion document. They eventually refunded me, but according to the Kobo agent, the publisher refused to fix any of the issues, and it looks like they simply yanked the book from the store.

I eventually ended up grabbing what I suspect was some OCR-generated EPUB online, but at least the dang thing was readable...

EDIT: Kinda similar to this one on the Kindle store. Note the complete lack of ToC or meaningful separation between Acknowledgment and Chapter One.

Also, is it my imagination, or does Amazon go to great lengths now to hide the publisher of their ebooks? I don't think it used to be this difficult. I'm surprised they haven't been sued by the major publishers, because the only purpose I could think of in actively obscuring the publisher is to hide the fact that the book is being uploaded by bogus publishers that don't actually have the rights to the book.

I think it was an illegal publisher that led to the "Amazon yanking 1984 off Kindles' fiasco, which maligned ebooks with uninformed people.

I'm not sure if they learned the right lesson from that. I believe now, the only difference is that the books don't get yanked from people's libraries if they already purchased it. The customer still gets to keep their bootleg copy, Amazon still gets their cut from the sale.

...which means Amazon is actually incentivized to keep bootleg ebooks on the store as long as they can so that they maximize their profit from the illegal sales, until the rightful Publisher sends them a take-down notice.

Which is why I expect that the continued obscuring of the Publisher might be intentional.

It is the Gateway version (not the one shown in my screenshot above) that I have, and that Kobo UK is currently selling - see https://www.kobo.com/gb/en/ebook/a-c...d-f2e8a44e4d55.

I certainly first read it sometime in the 1970s, but it's one of the few that I think is worth re-reading from time to time.
