Epub and PDFfile reader?
Hi Guys ,
I want to Buy an E-reader which support these two kinds of files , I heard that Kindle Paper white,All new kindle , KOBO Calara HD support these kinds of files I liked the warm light in KOBO but i come to know that paper white also have invert mode which help to read at night ,So which one i could go with as the main reason to buy is reading free ebooks and articles from the internet , its mean no need for Amazon or KOBO library to buy from and also my budget is 80-130$ or around that . Thank u all ![]() *i didnt used any e-reader before |

I would strongly recommend that you don't by a 6" e-ink ereader to read PDFs. None of them do a great job. PDFs are generally sized for large page sizes and you will need to zoom and pan and that doesn't work well. The Kobo displays the page well, but the navigation is terrible unless you don't need to zoom. Kindles are supposed to be better, but I don't use them.
You can use inverted mode on the Kobo devices. It is in the firmware, but, isn't offically supported. Plus there are some other ways to do it. |

As for the Clara HD? I own one and for me, it is better than the KPW. If nothing else, Kobo has left their software relatively open so doing modifications to their firmware, installing alternate renderers (KOReader, CoolReader, Plato, etc.) does not require jailbreaking or rooting your device. Compare this to Amazon where they have done their best to make jailbreaking a Kindle impossible. |

Spare yourself the trouble with pdfs on 6" readers and save some more money for an used 8" reader instead, with Koreader app installed thereon.
Koreader is must have pdf reader for 6" readers too, in the case you went that way. Last edited by Marinolino; 07-09-2019 at 06:15 AM. |

You would need to root the device and install koreader. This is how you root the device : https://forum.xda-developers.com/noo...ght-3-t3802331 ^ It is the same method as rooting the Nook glowlight 3 probably because they use the same version of Android. You can sideload koreader with Adb and fastboot. |
