Add a cover to 'auto add' conversions

I've just (re)discovered the auto-add feature. I've been converting old HTML files, and putting them into the "automatic" directory. Fabulous! Loving it!

One thing that would be handy would be a cover.

Is there a way to get the auto add to also add a cover?

Yes. Auto generated.

But here's the thing...when I "view" the new epub, it has a cover. But when I view the metadata...no cover. I just discovered this.

It's not a big thing. But I wonder if I'm doing something wrong?

No nothing wrong. Conversion happens after the book is added to calibre. Adding books does not auto-generate a cover, conversion to EPUB does.

I could probably have a cover auto-generated when adding a book with no cover, open a ticket for it and I will look into it when I have some time.

I feel that opening a ticket for a (I now realise) working feature is a bit harsh.
