Manage library in kindle

I have the latest calibre for windows on my computer and a kindle 8HD. Once calibre asked me if I wanted it to manage my books on my kindle too. I said yes. Now everytime I open calibre it starts to read the library on my kindle. I have lots of books on my kindle. I have left the kindle connected for over a day and it still not complete the reading the library. In the meantime, I cannot do anything else with the kindle. I have other books that I would like to add.

Is there a way to stop calibre from managing the library on my kindle? If so, how do I do it?

Thanks

Go to preferences->plugins and customize the MTP plugin that will allow you to tell calibre to ignore the device.

Thanks. Will this allow me to "Send to device"? or will I have to un-ignore it?

Thanks again

You will have to un-ignore it to send to device. MTP is rather slow, you can try using one of the wireless methods instead if scanning your device is taking too long.
