Mobile reader version of Mueller Report

I tried using Send to Kindle but the browser kept spinning its wheels. I assuming the size is a problem. Is there a site that would provide a mobile reader version of the report? Or tips to convert? I don't want to read a PDF on my 6 in screen. I guess there's Caliber?

PDF to anything is doomed to terrible results. It would be best if they released an EPUB version, but I'm not holding my breath. |

There are reports that Barnes & Noble are offering a free Nook version of the report.

Kindle version but they're charging $8 for it: https://www.amazon.com/Mueller-Repor.../dp/B07PB76691 Here's a version for $1.49, but I haven't checked it: https://www.amazon.com/Mueller-Repor.../dp/B07QKGMNBJ Free Nook version in epub: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/boo...=9781454938125 I just sent the NYT version of it to Pocket and am reading it offline on Ipad for free: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...-document.html Last edited by hollowpoint; 04-18-2019 at 02:57 PM. Right, all the ebook ones I've seen today including the Nook epub one I just added are pre-order at this point. I don't see any other current free offline options other than the PDF or adding the PDF or NYT version to a read-later app like Pocket.

Probably will be the facsimile type where they just scan all the PDF pages. Not searchable. Terrible navigation. I've been flipping through the Pocket and PDF versions, really not good either. It's annoying the PDF is non-searchable.

I know the gov't is under no requirement to do the following, but it seems like a no-brainer to me. I assume it was written in ms word. 1. Open with one of the *Office apps (libre, open, star, whatever) 2. slap on a load of disclaimers 3. Export to EPUB 4. Make available parallel to the *official* PDF It'll be a lot smaller and save on bandwidth and be a lot friendlier for phones, small tablets, and (gasp) e-readers. |

Assuming the various pre-order editions (Melville House, Washington Post, Skyhorse) are working from the same page-image version the DOJ has made available, it will be interesting to see if any of them get converted cleanly (especially with the hundreds if not thousands of REDACTED blocks inline). I pre-ordered the WaPo edition and will be able to see for myself soon enough. |

EPub will never be a document of record. It does seem to me that the government may be required to release documents that are ‘accessible’ per ADA requirements. But I don’t know if release has to be simultaneous when it is a case as sensitive as this. Last edited by tomsem; 04-18-2019 at 06:50 PM.
