Note 10.3 - bad battery or bad firmware?
Hi All,
It occurred to me that something was going on after the 2.1.1 firmware update and I decided to check the charge on the battery. I waited until my battery was down to 15%, and then I charged the unit to 100% and left it charging for another half an hour. I didn't turn it on until an hour after I unplugged it - the battery was down to 90%. No Bluetooth or WiFi enabled. I did not have this issue prior to 2.1.1, but not 100% certain this is due to the firmware. Maybe my unit decided to bite it? Coincidence? Anyone else experienced battery issues after the update? Thanks for any info. |

I don't have Onyx Note model, but I do have Onyx Boox Max 2 Pro and Onyx Boox Nova both running firmware 2.1.1. My devices hold charge after they are turned off for many hours. When they are in the sleep mode, with wifi turned on they still seems ok.
Do you see this issue with your Note 10.3 "powered off" or when its in the sleep mode? If it's in the sleep mode, could it be a background app running which maybe consuming power. Might be worth checking the Power management settings, for example, is the Auto-Freeze applied to newly installed apps? Perhaps the power settings have been reset to default. Doing a factory reset is a hassle but maybe worth considering. I would not install any 3rd party apps to ascertain whether the firmware is causing the issues? It is also worth contacting Onyx Boox Support if you use the Feedback button on your device and provide your email. I used this option to get support with my google playstore issues, and I got a rapid reply from Onyx. Goodluck!! |

Sleep and power Off are both set to 30 Minutes.
I've never added an app, and I don't have any running (that I know of). I should have mentioned that this battery thing is new, I had no issues prior to the update. Still, not sure if this is just a coincidence. Factory rest is an option, a painful option to be sure. Thanks for the suggestions. |

I got my Note Pro about a month ago and made a thread recently complaining about the rate of battery discharge. I’ve factory reset a few times (for other reasons), and right now have basically a clean android aside from google play and 2-3 apps. It appears I am running 2.1.1.
I’ll charge it to 100%, turn it off, and see what happens. I do recall it using some battery while in sleep mode. |
