calibre behind a proxy server

I am running Calibre behind an IIS proxy.
Everything is fine as long as I do not try to enable user/password on Calibre.
Result is then always :
Unsupported authentication method.

1. I am not sure what is wrong
2. As the proxy server is already user/password protected,
do I really need this again on Calibre ?

Setup the same username/password in the calibre server and get your reverse proxy to generate the correct Basic authorization header when contacting the calibre server.

You can of course not use user accounts in the calibre server, but if you do that, you cannot use the various features that require write permissions to the library, such as adding books/converting/deleting etc.

Thank you.

I changed the webserver proxy to stunnel.

I was now able to login, but access to any library is answered by :

Failed to load books from calibre library, with error:
Failed to communicate with "/interface-data/books-init?library_id=calbel&sort=timestamp.desc&1557691 901169", with status: [401] Unauthorized

But this seems to be browser-related, maybe a browser problem
