Touch Zone Behavior--Firmware 4.14.12777 Question

I just updated my Kobo Aura HD to Firmware Version 4.14.12777. I have my options set so that tapping on the bottom of the screen should bring up the control menu. Now nothing happens when I tap on the bottom the screen This worked correctly before I updated. (I'm not sure what firmware version I was on before--it was several versions ago.)

Tapping on the top of the screen still brings up the menu as expected. And if I set the tap zones so that tapping on the middle of the screen to bring up the menu, that works as expected.

Just wondering if this is the expected behavior with the new firmware.

It works OK for me. You can't tap on the 'Page x of y' area because that's reserved (using a long press) for cycling between 'Page x of y', 'xx% read' and 'x.y hours to go'. But tapping just above that brings up the top/bottom menus for me.

Thanks Jackie--That was it. I've been used to tapping at the very bottom of the screen and that wasn't working. When I tap a little higher up, the menu pops up as expected.

Why would being reserved for a long press exclude a normal tap? You can long press on a word to bring up the dictionary and still do a single tap to turn the page.

In my experience, the "long" press required to cycle through the page display options at the bottom of the screen is much closer to a normal "tap" than the long press used to call the dictionary. I frequently switch between display modes because I've tapped to turn the page too low on the screen. I think I've finally trained myself to aim my taps just a little higher up, so it hasn't happened lately.

Interesting. I'm using kepubs, and To me it appears the opposite: a longer tap is needed to change the page display than bring up the dictionary? Either way, it should be single tap for page advance, long press for page display change, IMO.
