Sometimes known as Pain in the Ass. I'm thinking you guys might be a miracle. I wrote a book. My editor and I have been reworking it for over a year. I want to release by May 1st.
This entire time, I have been dutifully studying how to publish on Amazon. Everything I have ever seen about e publishing talks about Amazon. Kindle is my Life Partner. I just found out that, not only are they not the only game in town, if I use their tools exclusively, I won't be able to sell my book on my own website, or give it to the Abandoned Senior German Shepherd group I work with as a fundraising tool. I also want it to be free to people who are struggling with mental illness or addiction and can't afford it, and people who work with those people and want to understand. And ZDogg MD and the Z pack. If I go exclusively with Amazon, which I believed was just what you did when you e published, all that is out. The book is called (Deleted by Moderator). An autobiography, not a how-to. I hope. It actually does tie in with mental illness and addiction and Dog Rescue. It's a long story. Hence the book. It may sound dark and dreadful, and it is quite stark in many places, but since I lived through it, it is now funny as hell. I robbed banks so my girlfriend wouldn't go to prison alone if she got caught. I wore heels as part of a disguise once. I don't walk well in heels. The FBI analyzed the video and decided they were after a gang of drag queens. So, now I need to figure out, fairly quickly, how to make it available in all formats, to everyone. I downloaded calibre last night. That seemed like the first step. My editor sent me the finished manuscript last night, although she sent it in four pieces. I guess email couldn't handle the whole thing. I need to figure out what to do about that. I talked to Draft2Digital, and I like them, but I need to know if there is something fishy about them, like the whole Amazon thing that it turned out I didn't know about. That's me. If anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them. Thanks! Last edited by HarryT; 04-09-2019 at 05:48 PM. Reason: misspellings |
