Cmd line converted file not accepted by amazon, GUI converted file is

Hi,

I have a file: my-epub.epub.

I run `epub-convert.exe pathFrom pathTo --epub-version 3` on the file to convert it to V3.

When sending this file to my kindle via email, I get an error email back from Amazon saying it's not a valid format, needs to be mobi, pdf, epub etc etc.

If I open my-epub.epub in Calibre and click convert and only change the version number to 3, then export and send that file. It works.

I've confirmed it's not the export process as I've exported it via command line both times so it seems that cmd line convert isn't working in the same way as the GUI convert.

It's also worth noting that the epub file contents are different between the 2 as well. When using cmd line, the contents of the epub don't change (except the version number) but when using the GUI, extra files are added (titlepage.xhtml) and other files change such as the table of contents etc).

I basically want the same behaviour the GUI is doing but from the command line.

Would anyone be able to provide me with some assistance please?

Can't seem to edit, I mean ebook-convert.exe for the cmd line. Not epub-convert.

I've managed to work this out. I ran calibre in debug mode from the command line and looked at the properties it overrides when running the convert. Turns out it needs to specify the cover (no idea why). Passing in this prop has sorted the issue and amazon is now accepting the file.
