Help with London & New York Review of Books recpies
I have subscriptions to the London & New York Review of Books. I succesfully entered my data & downloaded the latest issues. Now I have a few questions:
1) To other users downloading issues this way: what is the best way to schedule it? Since they're biweekly I'm guessing "every 14 days" will be best. But how does that work: if I enter 14 days will Calibre start doing it every 14 days starting on this day? And if so, what's the best day to enter this data? I'm not quite sure at the moment exactly on which day each of these will have its latest issue online. Thanks. 2) I tried downloading the NYRB's previous issue. What I did: I went to "add/edit a custom news source". I selected "customize built in recipe" and opened the one for NYRB. I changed the line saying http://www.nybooks.com/current-issue and replaced it with https://www.nybooks.com/issues/2019/02/07/. (The logic of these magazines' publication dates is that although this already has a publication date in the future, it's actually the last but one having been published! The latest one is dated 21 February! Go figure. Anyways.) I clicked Close and then went to "scheduled news downloads", clicked on the NYRB one and clicked on "download now". But the one it downloaded was still the latest issue, the 21 February one. Not the one I'd specified, the 7 February one. What did I do wrong? MTIA. |

Okay, I can answer question 2 myself now. I see that the edited recipe has been added to the "custom" category, which thankfully appears at the top of the list, and from where I can give the command to download now. The GUI can sometimes get a bit bewildering. Thanks for bearing with me.
