Probleme with kindle china

Hello guys
i just buy a kindle from china and i have a probleme with it i dont know if you can help me :'(

When I bought it I did not know that it had several versions
when I brought home I found that it was in Chinese and I can only log in with a Chinese account amazon
is there a possibility to format it and install a european version or usa version so that i can connect with a french or american account?

You didn't give us much information but if you can do a reset you should be off and running. Tap the top of the page to get the menu bar. Then tap the three dots on the right-hand side. Select "settings". Now, you have a new screen and you tap the three dots again. Tap "reset" and follow the instructions.

I would also suggest you contact Kindle Japan for help changing the language.

Hopefully it is not the Kindle X model. That runs completely different firmware in order to allow purchase of books from the Chinese Migu bookstore.

the firmware is in chinesse and can run just with the amazon.cn ( the chiness one ) so i cant buy because its not in $ or EUR

hope i can instal another firmware ?
this one give me juste to choose chine , taiwan , or hong kong

The Kindle Developer's Corner subforum is where discussion of Kindle mods takes place.

Kindles are generally pretty locked down. Jailbreaks have been discovered for some firmware versions, but I don't recall anyone ever mentioning the Kindle X model. You are probably on you own to figure it out.

Some Kindle models have an internal serial port than can be accessed if you open the device and attach extra hardware. Again, once you have access to the Kindle's console you would have to figure out what to do with it.

It is unknown if that model uses the same hardware as a different model and could run some other existing firmware even if you figure out a way to get it installed.

One more thing. Access to Amazon to obtain Kindle books after installing new firmware would probably not be possible because the device would have a serial number that does not match the installed firmware type.

mine is model sy69jl i dont know what generation is


yeah if i change the firmware i dont think if i can access to amazon server , i look for something legal update or somehting like that

Why don’t you call customer service to get the firmware you need?

It doesn't work like that. You can't install arbitrary firmware onto any Kindle model.

Of course not. Where would you get that I suggested that? CS could get the appropriate model numbers and suggest the appropriate FW link. China has plenty of English speaking customer service agents trained to help people get their kindle working.
The only caveat would be if he wants a jailbreak.
Jailbreaking requires the firmware be at or below certain versions dependent on the model. So, do the research before changing anything.

The firmware for that model (Kindle X) can be found here. I doubt that there is alternative software available. That model is only sold in China for the Chinese market. (It is an e-ink device that runs a custom version of Android, similar to Fire OS.)

You misunderstand me. I'm saying that I very much doubt that any alternative firmware is available for this device.
