Conversion stalls

Greetings all,

I am trying to convert a kindle book I purchased into an epub. I am using the latest version of Calibre on a Mac, with Kindle for Mac v1.17 and I have the plug-ins DeDRM and Kindle Unpacked installed. The conversion starts, but then either gets stuck at 1% or sometimes 67%, but goes no further. Below is the log from Calibre. Please review and advise. Thanks in advance!

Conversion is not a linear process, 1% and 67% finished are well known staging posts. If you look at your CPU stats you should see that calibre is using it.

Conversions can take more than 24 hours to complete, and the time taken is not a function of size alone, its also a function of markup complexity.

Looks like you're converting a PDF/AZW4. I don't have much experience converting those, but that could be adding to the time compared to an AZW3/KF8 or AZW/Mobi file.

You would be better off just using the kindleunpack plugin to extract the PDF embedded in the AZW4 file and then read the PDF in an appropriate app instead of converting it. Trying to convert the complex formatting of a fixed-layout textbook into a reflowable e-book is not going to yield a very useful result.
