Automatically setting title sort
Does clicking that in bulk edit mean that whatever is listed in the title sort is copied over to the title, or vice versa?
I believe that doing this with the author means that the author gets copied over to the sort (which sucks if all the author sorts are set up special). |

There is a tick: Update Title sort
BUT Really If you, the user, insist on creating exceptions. Then it is you, the user, who should use care when doing BULK operations, to not process your exceptions. |

I have done that, and haven't really come to any problems. However, the problem is when I use QC and I see that the titles don't match the sort.
There is never any exceptions in the titles, only in the authors, for example, I like authors with "St." in their names "Tielle St. Clare" to be sorted like "St. Clare, Tielle", author sort always changes it to "Clare, Tielle St.". Would be nice if I could bulk set author sort or have the author sort automatically set to how I have it in the manage authors. |

All this really is for when I use QC and the titles are off, I have only the option to copy over the actual title to the title sort and not vice versa.

I do set it there (authors), but it is always changing back for whatever reason. Most likely by my own hand. I have always set the QC to ignore the aurthor sorts for certain books. The problem is when I bring in another book by the same author, then the metadata doesn't recognize author sorts, only the author listing. I can change the way the authors are listed, but the sorts are never changed.

Fortunately, as far as authors go I always know which ones will hit. I don't spend too much time fixing them.
Titles are the only ones that bug me. No way to copy over the title sort (if the title has been changed beyond the title listed in the sort and I don't like it) back to the title. Whether or not the titles start with "The" or "A" isn't the problem. Its when the titles have changed drastically and I don't like what they have changed to. "The Stand (Original Edition)" is the title sort "The Stand" is the title. |
